- ➤ Yunqing Jian — a University of Michigan researcher accused of smuggling crop destroying fungus into the U.S. — appeared in federal court in Detroit on June 5 and had her detention hearing postponed to June 13 so that she will be able to hire a private attorney while she remains in custody. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Ypsilanti is replacing its outdated bus terminal with a new transit center that will triple its size and offer better amenities for passengers and drivers. TheRide plans to start construction in 2026 and open the center by 2028 — designs are being refined using input from residents and city officials. MLive
