- ➤ An Ohio man lost control while speeding on his Harley-Davidson in Washtenaw County and hit a guardrail, suffering serious injuries before being taken to the University of Michigan Hospital—police are still investigating the crash. FOX 2
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Thor Equities, a New York-based firm, proposed a $1 billion computer data center campus on 19 parcels totaling about 810 acres in Augusta Township that would rezone 522 acres from agricultural to industrial uses. Neighbors raised concerns about noise, water use, and environmental impacts at a May 28 public hearing, and the planning commission recommended denial while the township Board of Trustees will decide the proposal's fate — further details will come during the site plan review. - ➤ On June 1, officers found that vandals had removed flowers from 250 of the 800 peony plants in the University of Michigan’s W.E. SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Ann Arbor-area regional softball games will be held on June 7 with Division 1 hosted by Ypsilanti Lincoln and Division 2 hosted by Chelsea. In Division 1, Saline plays Dexter at 10 a.m., Temperance Bedford meets Kalamazoo Central at 12:30 p.m., and the 3 p.m. championship will advance a team to the state quarterfinals—while in Division 2, Tecumseh meets Carleton Airport at 10 a.m. and Trenton faces Chelsea at 12 p.m. with its championship winner also moving on to the state quarterfinals.
