About this event
Artificial intelligence is creating new opportunities for understanding and protecting our natural world, whether it's tracking endangered species, monitoring biodiversity, detecting pollution, protecting forests, or predicting the effects of climate change. AI has the ability to process very large amounts of data from satellites, sensors, cameras and other sources to help scientists and conservationists better understand ecosystems, identify environmental threats and develop more effective strategies for protecting nature. How is AI already being used to protect wildlife and the environment? What new opportunities could these technologies bring for conservation and climate action? And what are the barriers to turning AI-driven insights into meaningful environmental impact? Join us for a conversation with experts in AI and environmental science as we explore how artificial intelligence can help protect our planet and enable nature to thrive. Panelists include Liz Bondi-Kelly, Meha Jain, and Rada Mihalcea, with an interactive activity facilitated by Anika Misra This event is in partnership with the Michigan AI Lab. L
