About this event
Mantras and Prayers of Buddhist Enlightened Goddesses with Dr. Sangseraima Ujeed
Discover the world of Buddhist goddesses through the power of chanting and contemplation. In this experiential workshop, we will explore the stories, symbolism, and qualities of enlightened female figures in Buddhism, including the Bodhisattva Tārā and other wisdom and compassion deities. Through guided chanting of traditional Tibetan and Mongolian prayers and mantras, we will discover how these practices have been used for centuries to cultivate courage, wisdom, compassion, and protection. We will explore not only what these sacred words mean, but how we might bring their qualities into our own lives. No prior experience with Buddhism or chanting is necessary-just curiosity and an open mind. This class is part of the upcoming 2027 class series “Chanting Meditation & Mind Training: Bringing Buddhism into Everyday Life“.
We will be meeting upstairs in the Crazy Wisdom Meeting Room.
This first class is free and open to the public. Classes in the subsequent series are $25 or $100 for all 5 classes when paid in full by 1st class.
Dr. Ujeed who will be leading the session, spent years collecting and learning different melodies for meditative mantra recitation from Buddhist teachers from various ancient Buddhist traditions from Tibet, the Himalayas and Mongolia and will be sharing them during the workshop.
This is introductory class for her upcoming class series Chanting Meditation & Mind Training: Bringing Buddhism into Everyday Life.
