➤ Michigan drivers show school pride on more than 122,500 university fundraising plates, according to the Secretary of State. Michigan State leads with 56,413 plates—University of Michigan and Central Michigan follow with 28,194 and 7,450 respectively, with $25 from each $35 sale supporting its school. MLive

➤ Washtenaw County officials have announced $8.2 million in road projects to improve 30 miles of roads across 15 townships in 2026 — construction will start mid-April with detours, lane shifts, and closures planned. A virtual public meeting is scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14. MLive
