BUSINESS NEWS

  • DTE got approval from the Michigan Public Service Commission on Thursday to be the primary electricity provider for a 1.383 gigawatt data center in Saline Township for Oracle, OpenAI, and Related Digital — the 19-year contract is designed to protect customers and support local growth.  FOX 2

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Local leaders met at Alpha House East on Dec. 10 to review HUD’s planned changes that would cut permanent housing funds from about 87 percent to 30 percent, potentially affecting hundreds of residents who rely on a program receiving $7.3 million a year.  MLive

SPORTS NEWS

  • Michigan basketball coach Dusty May said the team will use the holiday break to learn from past games as they ready themselves for tougher matchups; the Wolverines (10-0) will host La Salle at 4 p.m. ET on Peacock and face McNeese on Dec. 29.  MLive
  • MLive released the first Top 25 rankings for Michigan high school girls basketball for the 2025-26 season, listing key teams including Ypsilanti Arbor Prep (1-1). The list sets up important early season matchups as teams prepare to face each other on Saturday.  MLive
