CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Lawrielle West became the museum’s first full-time director in August and now leads the African American Cultural and Historical Museum from its new location in a renovated farmhouse on Lohr Road in Pittsfield Township to share local Black history and stories. The museum is showing a solo exhibit by Ypsilanti artist Lauren McHale Mills through Dec. 13 and will launch a permanent, rotating exhibit on Washtenaw County in December—providing a space for community events. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ A new bill would prohibit Michigan minors from buying diet and muscle growth supplements like creatine and green tea extract, with retailers required to verify age—facing fines up to $1,000 per violation—to protect youth from unsafe products.
