A Dallas-based firm and local landowners filed a lawsuit against Saline Township after the board rejected rezoning for a 575 acre site meant for an AI and computing data center.
The suit claims that the township rules unfairly block data center growth in the rural community.
Ypsilanti City Council will hold a public hearing on October 21 at 7:00 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall to review a request to rezone the property at 487 Owendale from Single-Family Residential to Neighborhood Corridor.
The proposal seeks to expand the parking lot to support a gas station and auto repair shop and add EV charging spaces—written comments are due by 4:00 p.m. on October 20 following a Planning Commission recommendation to deny the plan.
Gov. Whitmer did not rule out a free meals package for Michigan students even after a state budget deal left out universal breakfast and lunch.
Lawmakers will continue negotiating free school meals for the next fiscal year starting Oct. 1 — the program stays a key issue.
