GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Michigan Public Service Commission approved a 68% boost in outage credits that will automatically grant customers $42 per day after extended power outages, following a report of slow restoration times. The new credit rate will take effect October 1—aimed at easing bills while utilities work to improve their service.  FOX 2
  • The City of Ypsilanti is hosting in-person and virtual focus group sessions as part of its Water Street Community Engagement Survey to gather public input for the future development of Water Street. The Third Ward in-person session is on September 22nd at 1 S. Huron St. from 6:30-8:00 p.m.—residents should email the city to obtain materials, and a virtual session is scheduled for September 30th.  City of Ypsilanti
