- ➤ On Sept. 3, a semitrailer carrying loose steel coils veered off I-94 near Ann Arbor, seriously injuring the driver who was taken for treatment as rescue crews cleared debris—traffic was delayed for several hours. MLive
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ The Beer Cooler at 22 S. Washington St. has been closed since August 31 after a video showed a brawl between two employees and a woman—police are investigating reports of vandalism and simple assault while city officials ask the public to be patient. MLive
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Country singer Zach Bryan will perform the first-ever concert at Michigan Stadium on September 27 in Ann Arbor—he will be joined by John Mayer, Ryan Bingham, the Texas Gentlemen and Joshua Slone. Tickets released include standard pairs starting under $250 while resale pairs range from $170 up to more than $12,000 for seats near the stage. FOX 2

- ➤ Ypsilanti’s Perry Early Learning Center has opened a new gross motor space to help young students regulate energy and focus in class—movement-based activities aim to boost academic readiness. The center expects the space to help students channel their energy effectively during school hours. MLive
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Washtenaw County Board of Commissioners allocated $333,333 to the Western Washtenaw Area Value Express to expand bus service for older adults in the Chelsea area. Officials said the service will add weekend and door-to-door routes for about 500 seniors while two other groups will submit missing budget details to receive their share of the county millage funds.
