- ➤ Washtenaw County offers several events this weekend—Chelsea Community Fair at 20501 W. Old U.S. Highway 12 runs until Sat. with rides, food and special free entry days (Senior Day was Aug. 21 and Family and Ladies Day are today), while Fuzz Fest rock festival plays at the Blind Pig until Sat.; Ann Arbor Gallery Nights in Kerrytown hosted art talks and demos on Aug. 21, showcasing local talent. - ➤ University of Michigan began its move-in process on Aug.21 as families help students settle into East Quad Residence Hall—move-ins will continue through Aug.24 with over 9,200 undergraduates expected to complete the transition before classes start on Aug.25. - ➤ More than 7,000 scrap tires have been mixed into asphalt for an experimental road project on Ellsworth Road in Pittsfield Township, and Michigan Tech researchers say the rubber-infused pavement may better withstand freeze-thaw cycles—road crews will install the new pavement next week. MLive

- ➤ Dillon Dingler’s triple sparked a six-run outburst in the first inning that helped the Tigers sweep the Astros with a 7-2 win on Aug. 20 in Detroit. The win improved the Tigers’ record to 76-53 + they have won seven of their last eight games. MLive
