- ➤ Tariq Russell Lee, 26, from Belleville pleaded guilty in Washtenaw County Trial Court to assault less than murder—he fired a gun from his car and did not stop after a crash on Aug. 12. MLive
- ➤ Federal prosecutors charged two Metro Detroit doctors — Dr. Shakeeb Chinoy of Bloomfield Hills and Dr. Sunil Manjila-Varghese of Ann Arbor — along with a clinic owner and a recruiter in a $7M opioid scheme that illegally issued thousands of prescriptions from November 2023 to June and bilked Medicare and Medicaid for over $1 million.
