- ➤ On Aug. 3, a 30-year-old man was killed on I-94 near Wiard Road in Ypsilanti Township when he got out of his car to help with a truck that had run out of gas—police said a 50-year-old Ypsilanti driver may have fallen asleep at the wheel due to intoxicants. MLive
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Ypsilanti Community Schools has named three new principals to lead its schools this fall—Timothy Authier will head Ypsilanti International Elementary, Celeste Henderson Green will run Puentes Multilingual School, and Zuqueta Brown will serve as assistant principal at Community High. Director of human resources Sue McCarty introduced the administrators at a school board meeting on Aug. 4—and their employment agreements begin this month. MLive
