- ➤ Banelly Benitez Cruz, 28, who was accused of aiding a murder suspect's escape to Mexico, was sentenced to one year in prison by Washtenaw County Trial Court Judge Arianne Slay—she had withdrawn her initial plea after the judge raised concerns about allowing her immediate reentry to the community.
