EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Officials announced a $5.6 million Head Start grant has been renewed to support 441 children in local preschool programs next year—this renewal comes after concerns over potential federal cuts. MLive
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Ypsilanti City Council will hold a meeting in person and online at Council Chambers, City Hall on July 1st at 7:00 p.m. Members of the public may comment via Zoom - persons with disabilities needing accommodations must contact the City Clerk by 5:00 p.m. the day before. City of Ypsilanti
- ➤ On Friday, the Michigan Board of State Canvassers approved summary language that lets petitioners gather signatures for a ballot proposal to use Ranked Choice Voting in future elections. If enough signatures are collected, the proposal will appear on the 2026 midterms—potentially changing Michigan’s voting process. FOX 2
