- ➤ Carousel Acres — a long-established petting farm in South Lyon — has welcomed Flash, a 4-month-old rescued sloth now ready to greet visitors alongside Priscilla. The farm offers scheduled encounters and private home visits with the animals. MLive

- ➤ The Ypsi Fine Arts Club will host a free art event on Wednesday, May 6 at Riverside Arts Center’s North Gallery where award-winning filmmaker Angela Kline will speak & Michigan native Eric Reou will raffle his painting 'Frog Abstracted.' Doors open at 5 p.m. with raffle tickets available in person. MLive

- ➤ University of Michigan will host its second annual Climate Week from Sept. 26 to Oct. 3 with programs across Ann Arbor, Flint, and Dearborn campuses that focus on practical climate solutions and local partnerships. Events include Harvest Fest on Sept. 27 and a foraging talk on Sept. 30. MLive

- ➤ Michigan State Police are hosting National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, Apr. 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at state posts to accept expired and unused pills + community members may drop off prescription drugs on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for safe disposal. FOX 2

- ➤ Michigan head hockey coach Brandon Naurato — a Livonia native — will join Team USA as an assistant coach for the 2026 IIHF World Championship in Zurich and Fribourg, Switzerland from May 15 to 31. He becomes the third coach with Michigan ties to gain international experience. MLive
- ➤ Michigan football is competing for five-star defensive lineman Marcus Fakatou from Sierra Canyon. An official visit is planned for June 15 to showcase the program before he makes his decision in early August. MLive
- ➤ After finishing last in the NFC North & picking 17th at Thursday’s NFL Draft on Pittsburgh’s North Shore, the Detroit Lions are reported to be considering a trade up for a key prospect while local colleges may see their standouts called over the draft’s final two days. MLive
- ➤ On April 23, local athletes posted top marks in boys track and field events around Ann Arbor, with Kinley Poole of Ann Arbor Huron running the 100 dash in 10.71 seconds and teams from Ypsilanti, Chelsea, Saline + Dexter excelling in relays and field events. Results came from athletic.net. MLive
