HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Michigan tick season is underway as Lyme disease cases nearly quadrupled since 2022 with more than 2,000 reported, and health experts advise Ypsilanti residents to check themselves and their pets for deer ticks (small and brown with white specks) to catch early symptoms like fever, headache, and fatigue. - ➤ Michigan football faces a low-key NFL Draft as analysts note a lack of top talent and that the Wolverines will forgo a first-round pick; eight players including defensive end Derrick Moore (a key prospect) are projected to be selected during the upcoming draft weekend in Pittsburgh. MLive
- ➤ The Michigan high school lacrosse season is underway with over 220 boys and girls teams competing for a state tournament spot. State finals will be held in June at Parker Stadium in Howell, and hundreds of games will be livestreamed on the NFHS Network. MLive
