CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Banelly Benitez Cruz, 28, pleaded no contest to accessory after the fact to a felony for her role in a fatal shooting outside a Ypsilanti parking lot last year — she will be sentenced on June 12 under a Cobbs agreement while her co-defendant, Lynell Rayshawn Pickett Jr., 20, faces multiple charges. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ On April 21, Superior Township passed an ordinance by a 5-1 vote to limit water and sewer service expansion—this decision aims to slow new development while allowing exceptions for existing homes facing service issues. MLive
- ➤ Michigan voters will head to the polls on May 6 to cast ballots in local races that include many school district millage renewals, and early voting will last for several days. Polls will open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. — a sign of Michigan's expanded voting options. FOX 2
