  • Attorney Jon Marko said former U of M coach Matthew Weiss faced a federal indictment for allegedly hacking personal data+ photos+ email of thousands of female athletes from 2015 until 2023, and a lawsuit by more than 40 women shows this breach may only be the tip of the iceberg.  FOX 2

EDUCATION NEWS

  • At Eastern Michigan University, visas for two international students—one from India and one from China—were revoked on April 14th; EMU spokesperson Walter Kraft said the university is aware of no other revoked visas.  MLive

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On April 10, DHS served Washtenaw County an immigration enforcement subpoena and a notice of inspection for its ID program serving immigrants and others — county officials are reviewing their legal options.  MLive
  • Today, the Ypsilanti City Council will hold a special closed session at 6:00 p.m. in Council Chambers at City Hall (1 South Huron) to discuss pending litigation involving VTP River Woods LLC and VTP Arbor One LLC v City of Ypsilanti; the regular meeting agenda will start at 7:00 p.m.  City of Ypsilanti

HEALTH NEWS

  • A public health alert from the FSIS warned that some soup products sold in Michigan may contain recalled cilantro—contaminated with wood discovered during a recent recall investigation. Shoppers are advised to throw away or return the products as FSIS expects more items to be affected.  FOX 2
