- ➤ 42-year-old Shuvonne Laverne Vinson, accused in a foster family shooting in Northfield Township, was referred for a psychiatric competency exam on March 20 by Judge J. Cedric Simpson—this referral delayed her preliminary examination from April 16 and set a competency hearing for May 22. MLive

- ➤ Woodlawn Cemetery, a historic African American burial site at 7800 S. Huron River Dr. in Ypsilanti Township, was largely abandoned by 1965—its overgrowth now covering its original features—and it could be restored. MLive
