HEALTH NEWS

  • The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services is urging infants ages 6 to 11 months in Washtenaw, Monroe, Wayne, Oakland, Jackson, Livingston, and Lenawee counties to get an early measles vaccine dose to fight eight confirmed cases. The advisory remains until May 16 (follow-up doses are required).  MLive

SPORTS NEWS

  • Michigan basketball will face Arizona in the Final Four at Lucas Oil Stadium on Saturday, Apr. 4, and fans can save $20 on qualifying tickets from Vivid Seats (new customers can use code MLIVE20).  MLive
  • Local high school girls are competing in track and field this spring. Fifteen athletes from the Ann Arbor area, including those from Ypsilanti, Chelsea and Whitmore Lake, were highlighted to show rising talent + athletic achievements in the season.  MLive
  • Former NFL All-Pro Desmond King II has joined Saline High School as defensive backs coach, bringing eight years of NFL experience to the Hornets. The Detroit native announced his hire on Wednesday and head coach Kyle Short praised his local return.  MLive
  • Jonah Lea’ea transferred from Utah to Michigan after Wednesday’s spring practice because he valued the Big Ten platform and familiar coaching staff. The 6-foot-5 player (285 lbs) plans to add weight before camp to help fill defensive gaps under new coordinator Jay Hill.  MLive
  • Guard Elliot Cadeau was treated at a hospital after an allergic reaction at a fan event at Crisler Center and has rejoined his Michigan teammates in Indianapolis; he will practice ahead of Saturday's national semifinal against Arizona (8:50 p.m. ET) as the team prepares for the Final Four.  MLive
