  • A recent AAA survey of 300 Michigan cannabis users found 53% drive within an hour of consuming pot and nearly 85% drive on the same day, raising concerns over impaired driving. Officials plan to use the findings to improve safe driving campaigns—given Michigan’s large recreational market—amid ongoing efforts to reduce preventable crashes.  FOX 2

  • A man in a mental health crisis barricaded himself inside a Ypsilanti Township apartment on March 19 and refused to open his door to police (negotiations lasted several hours) until a fire broke out inside that caused about $75,000 in damage before he was removed from the balcony and taken to hospital.  MLive

  • On March 19, Michigan State fan Armando Davis completed a 24-hour challenge at McDonald’s—he shortened his time by eating McChicken sandwiches at locations in Ann Arbor and East Lansing after losing a bet with UM fans.
