- ➤ A house fire near Ypsilanti caused a woman to be rescued and then taken to (Trinity Health Ann Arbor Hospital) in critical condition before she died, and her age (not disclosed) remains unknown. MLive

- ➤ Forever 21 filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and will soon close all its U.S. stores — including nine in Michigan — as liquidation sales are set to begin in the near future. MLive

- ➤ Ronnie Magbray was charged with murdering Hiram 'Amira' O’Neill near Ypsilanti—his trial began on March 17 and he claimed he acted in self-defense. MLive

- ➤ MLB Hall of Famer Derek Jeter will serve as the keynote speaker at University of Michigan’s Spring Commencement at Michigan Stadium on May 3. He is recommended for an honorary Doctor of Laws degree along with three others chosen from athletics, business, astrophysics and medicine. MLive

- ➤ Residents near Arbor Hills Landfill in Salem Township submitted over 200 odor complaints so far in 2025 — many saying the strong smell forces them to stay indoors. MLive
