  • Drag performer Jadein Black will mark 18 years with three Ypsilanti fundraising shows from March 14 to 15, including a brunch at Sidetrack Bar and Grill, an 18+ bingo show, and a free St. Patrick’s Day-themed event featuring Erika Norell; proceeds benefit Ann Arbor Pride and a local school band.  MLive

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Michigan gas prices hit $3.55 per gallon, a 56-cent jump from last week that makes a 15-gallon fill cost about $53—the highest in nearly two years. AAA warns prices may rise further if oil supplies are disrupted (with records from Saginaw and Lansing).  FOX 2

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Residents have sued the Washtenaw County Road Commission to stop removal of 42 trees along Werkner Road in Sylvan Township near Chelsea, saying it harms the environment. A judge will hear arguments at 11 a.m. on Wed., March 11 as officials defend the necessary road widening — work may start.  MLive

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • The new Haverhill on Clark apartment complex in Pittsfield Township has nearly filled its 295 rent-restricted units, leaving just one spot for eligible residents. The facility offers amenities such as a pool, fitness studios + community spaces near local jobs, schools and health centers.  MLive

SPORTS NEWS

  • Michigan teacher Nathan Martin won the Los Angeles Marathon on March 9 when he edged Michael Kimani Kamau by less than a second in the 26.2-mile race, finishing in 2:11:17.  FOX 2
