- ➤ Two longtime broadcasters at 89.1 WEMU will retire effective June 30; David Fair, who has served since 1994, and Michael Jewett, with 42 years at the station, will step down as WEMU prepares to post their replacement roles (farewell celebrations are planned). MLive
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Winter melt-and-freeze cycles are causing ice dams and long icicles on many local roofs, and experts advise homeowners to remove excess snow and clear gutters (or seek professional help) to prevent damage. FOX 2
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Small businesses in Washtenaw Urban County can apply to Washtenaw County's relaunched Small Business Growth Activator Program. Applications for the Resourceful Reese track closed Feb. 9 and the Community Compliance track accepts applications until Feb. 11, with each track offering $2,500 grants and expert business coaching. - ➤ County road officials plan to remove 48 trees as part of a major road reconstruction on Werkner Road near Chelsea to improve drainage and safety. An in-person open house (6 p.m. Wednesday at Chelsea Council Chambers) will let residents review the proposal and share their concerns. MLive
