  • UM senior Jane Doe is suing after the university disciplined her for submitting a telehealth note for insomnia relief that her provider later confirmed as authentic; the academic integrity process led to a winter suspension and a notation on her record that could affect her future enrollment.  MLive

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Over 1,200 residents signed an online petition urging county officials to reduce tree removals by refining plans for Werkner Road widening near Chelsea. The commission will review public feedback at meetings on Feb. 9 (via Zoom) and Feb. 11 at Chelsea City Hall.  MLive

HEALTH NEWS

  • University of Michigan’s Dance Marathon will compete with Ohio State’s team to raise $4,000 for pediatric hospital programs until Jan. 23, with Farmers of America matching donations + adding a $2,000 bonus during the men’s basketball game at 8 p.m. Friday at the Crisler Center in Ann Arbor.  MLive
