About this event

The U.S. federal income tax code has become famously complex since its inception in 1913. Over the decades, it has evolved to do much more than simply collect revenue. Is it working the way it is supposed to? Come join Braver Angels of Washtenaw County to discuss the principles behind how we got here, and how our tax system might evolve. Share your opinions on the principles that should govern the system: what should determine how much people pay, when different treatment is warranted, and what role—if any—the tax code should play in encouraging particular choices or activities.
